About.
In January, 2021 Alexa Yunes-Koch and I co-founded the UNL Racial Justice Alliance. We are a group of undergraduate and graduate students who are committed to learning about and interrupting racism(s). Our primary goal is to support one another as we navigate our complex racialized lives, and in doing so, we hope to take the lessons we learn to our families, friends, colleagues, and community. At our monthly meetings we discuss a topic related to racism(s) or racial justice, share our own experiences with the chosen phenomenon, and help each other find the words to interrupt racist actions and thoughts when we encounter them in the future. Although our primary focus is on dialogue and conversation, we also support other on-campus and local organizations that are committed to racial justice.
