The purpose of this art project is to highlight the potential of translational artistic methods          in social scientific and interpretive research as well as to highlight my role in my own       research through my art. I have illustrated the findings of my recent published research on multiethnic-racial siblings. I have chosen my media according to the themes of the findings. Overall, the glass signifies the strong yet fragile, open yet closed nature of sibling relationships. The use of acrylic symbolizes the colorful passion that encompasses growing up with siblings. Painting on glass with opaque acrylic signifies the ways that some siblings allow each other to see into each other’s ethnic-racial identities by letting them in through transparent conversation and sharing experience. However, there are some opaque boundaries that siblings do not transgress or overlap. In particular, although some siblings identify similarly and share similar bonds, some siblings identify differently in terms of their races and ethnicities. Finally, all of the        figures in these paintings are expressive, signifying the expressive and collaborative nature of            developing an ethnic-racial identity through interaction and communication. Of course, these              are my own siblings, who I love dearly, and who inspired my thesis project - which is                          dedicated to my Late brother Michael Antony Cardwell.
